Castlevania Season 2 Trailer Gave Me a Ladyboner

The first gaming system that I had was a Playstation 1.I had begged my parents for years to get a Dreamcast and they weren’t having it. Still to this day I hold the design and aesthetic of that unit in deep, loving nostalgia. But I’ll always be a Playstation kind of girl. I mostly play JRPGs, fighting games and adventure games so the PS suits me just fine. It’s only recently that I’ve had the urge to buy another game system so I can play things like Skyrim and Dragon Age. But in 1999 I was only playing one game; Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

I don’t know if it was the art of the cover or the gothic adventure sensibility or if someone had recommended it to me, but I loved it. I honestly don’t even remember finishing it. I have a tendency to not finish games I love playing, prolonging the end.

I was surprised when I heard there was a TV series based off of the game coming out to Netflix. Castlevania fans seem so small, so niche, but also very loyal. Was it enough to launch an entire series off of?Also with the track record of movies/shows based off of video games, I wasn’t optimistic.
